BIENVENUE !

Bienvenue ! For those that have not been subjected to my crazy songs, videos, resources, etc., here is a brief intro about who I am what I've been doing over the past four decades.

Early on in my career (way back in the 90s... 1990s to be clear) I was pegged as the "grammar guy." My fault, I guess. When you write annoying little ditties like Avoir II, Aller, and Le passé composé you're bound to get a reputation. lol

But these are the 2020s now. Where do we stand on grammar? Surely most of us agree that grammar exists, though there are those conspiracy theorists that try to deny its existence. And, surely most of us believe that stopping a lesson to just teach grammar can be disruptive to the flow and not always the best way to go about building a foundation of language learning. Some would say, you don't have to tell the heart to beat, it just does. So if grammar is at the heart of the structure of a language, maybe we just need to beat along to its rhythm. Perhaps that's the best answer. Teaching grammar in context, getting students moving and showing understanding of grammar without stopping down the road to French proficiency may be the key.

In this ROCK YOUR FRENCH GRAMMAR free mini-course, I'm going to share with you what I've been doing in terms of grammar in K-12 French classrooms (Core and French Immersion levels) and live in concert over the past 28+ years.

I will share with you songs, videos, dance moves, gesture-led strategies, and a bevy of examples of support strategies that were created by me and the French teacher guru Maddy Shipton to hopefully inspire you to make your own real connections and forever memories for students.

As you move through this free mini-course, we'll start with Justin Bieber and the verb AVOIR II, go over to ALLER, before being all we can be with ÊTRE II. Use the videos with your students, engage them in the suggested strategies, create your own packs, and put French verbs into action!

What are your thoughts on using grammar in French class? Let's talk! Drop your thoughts and share you ideas in the comments section below.
