There are so many to harvest, but here are just some specific insights and tips for using the Rock Your Class strategies found with this chapter that you can do with your students learning online. That's right! Bring the funny online!

• Lead by example. Try the sure fire (I hope) subject area jokes found on page 31 and 32 of your ROCK YOUR CLASS book. You can do it! For example, if you teach History: HISTORY JOKE: What WWII era leader was always dragging his feet, never quick to decide? ANSWER/PUNCHLINE: Stalin
• Do a class brainstorm for possible jokes, puns, riddles, or play on words that can be created with content area vocabulary from your subject area. Share 10 key words from a unit or novel study and see what you can all come up with together as a class. For example, if you teach Science, maybe your class will come up with funny fodder like this one. SCIENCE JOKE: SCIENCE: What do elements do with their treasures? ANSWER/PUNCHLINE: Barium.
• Host a live, online comedy battle. Assign students a large group of course content related words that they can use to create funny one-liners with. Then, host on online competition to see what student came up with the funniest ones. Request their one-liners in advance to preview for appropriateness, of course. But after each one-liner is shared, use that opportunity to expand on it with a little teaching! :)
• Memes. You're online together. Use this opportunity to find and share memes related to curriculum content. Share and talk about the key words involved. Teaching with memes. Great concept!
• Funny video clips. Find funny video clips related to your curriculum and watch them online as a group. Allow students to comment and then expand upon the key curriculum content that the video clip touched upon.
• Comic strips are timeless. Have students create and share digitally created comic strips related to your subject area and current unit of study. Keep the good ones in an online folder to share in later years.
